A History of Tradition

The Lawton Community Fire Department is a 100% volunteer fire and rescue department. The Lawton Community Fire Department serves the City of Lawton and the townships of Banner and Concord. Founded in 1911, the department has been serving and protecting 72 square miles for 109 years. Starting with a hand drawn hose cart and then finally upgrading to an engine powered 1934 engine. Today the fire and rescue department has grown to half a dozen apparatus to cover a range of emergencies. On average the Lawton Community Fire Department has between 20-30 men and women ready to act on a moment’s notice. Along with our own emergencies, the members of the department also perform controlled burns, fire safety education, and mutual aid assistance.
